On 21 January The Digital Engagement Team in Cabinet Office launched data.gov.uk. As part of the team in Cabinet Office I was delighted and proud to play a small part in this.
All of the data is non-personal – it doesn’t have any personal details of people, there are no personal risks to this release.
Individuals or businesses can create new software tools – we want people to build applications that create economic value – go and create an economy around this.
